It was there;
Shining bright,
Beckoning me to it.
The only thing I had to do
Was reach out,
But I blew it.
I hid myself
Behind my Faith,
My family, my work.
And so it dimmed
And grew so cold,
And leaked into the earth.
I reach out now
To touch the void,
Why didn’t I before?
But it’s too late;
My chance is gone.
It’s not there anymore.
