Fear

I’m most afraid of losing the warmth,

Losing the hands around my heart

Losing the smiles and optimism

The nice ways of myself

I’m most afraid of change

Of turning stagnant

Of losing my way

Of losing my mind

I’m most afraid of being alone

Of smothering embraces

Of nothingness and emptiness

Of turning into mulch
